Paul Pickett
For
Murray City Council
Paul Pickett is a candidate for Murray City Council - District 1
Paul is committed to Murray City. He and his wife, Jennifer, have lived in Murray for 23 years. All five of their children have received their elementary and secondary educations in the Murray School District.
Background
Paul taught secondary school for 22 years, including four years in Murray, and is aware of the importance of education and community support in the development of the next generation.
He is bi-lingual in English and Spanish with professional global experience. Paul has worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 32 years and was recently the regional manager for Internal Integrated Facilities Management where he oversaw multimillion dollar negotiations and contracts. He currently manages the operation of BYU-Pathway in 12 countries in Latin America.
He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and later served in the US Air Force inactive reserves for 8 years. He has received degrees from Ricks College, University of Utah, and currently holds a master’s degree, with honors, from Washington State University. He has also done graduate work at Idaho State University.
Paul is a rabid Real Salt Lake soccer fan, a connoisseur of great pizza (eating and baking!), and an enormous enthusiast of the Jordan River Parkway. Even so, with all of his involvements and interests, his family comes first.
As your representative on the City Council, Paul will handle the city’s and your needs with kind consideration, careful precision, and a dash of down-home good humor
